What is a Fox Hunt?
For the uninitiated, a fox hunt is a friendly competition that tests your radio direction-finding skills. Participants will use their own radio equipment to track down ‘Tonka, the MHR transmitter, or “fox.” It’s a blend of strategy, radio knowledge, and outdoor fun. While it’s recommended to have a directional antenna with an attenuator, attendees can use a simple HT radio and various techniques to hone in on ‘Tonka the fox.
- Friendly Competition: Test your skills against fellow ham radio operators.
- Beautiful Scenery: Explore Long Lake Regional Park while you hunt RF.
- Networking: Meet and connect with fellow radio enthusiasts who share your passion.
