The 2024 Ojibwe Forests Rally is just around the corner, and we need your help!
This event relies heavily on ham radio operators to keep everyone safe in the woods while teams from all over the country compete on the winding dirt roads in the Paul Bunyan and White Earth state forests. Operators relay important safety and race control information via a 2m net.
Who: any ham radio operator with a Technician or higher license, a mobile 2m radio, and an interest in emergency communications or motorsports. No experience necessary, happy to train anyone who is interested!
What: The Ojibwe Forests Rally is a national level Stage Rally Race sanctioned by the American Rally Association and organized by local volunteers. More information about the event is available at: www.ojibweforestsrally.com/
When: The event is held August 22-24, 2024
Where: This event is held in multiple locations: on Thursday, August 22nd it will be at Soo Pass Ranch south of Detroit Lakes. On Friday, August 23rd, competition is in the Paul Bunyan state forest near Park Rapids/Akeley area. On Saturday, August 24th, competition is held in the White Earth state forest near Elbow Lake.
Primitive camping with access to showers is available to volunteers at the race service area at Pioneer Farms near Itasca State park (map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fdsQyQ1aoQFsGks77)
