Hams On The Ice 2025

Get ready for a unique winter gathering that combines the thrill of Minnesota’s cold-weather adventure with the camaraderie of amateur radio! Hams on the Ice 2025 is set to bring ham radio enthusiasts and curious newcomers together on the frozen surface of White Bear Lake right off Mahtomedi Beach for a day of on-air fun, community-building, and family-friendly activities.

Now in its annual tradition, Hams on the Ice invites participants to set up portable radio stations right on the ice. Whether you’re an experienced ham radio operator or someone who wants to learn more about ham radio, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to experiment with new gear and spark conversations over the airwaves. Come on down if you’re new and see how amateur radio operators setup equipment and operate under extreme conditions. 

Admission is FREE for anyone wishing to attend. Parking can be a challenge, so if you have a 4×4 vehicle with a high clearance you can likely drive on to the lake. If you don’t have a vehicle capable of clearing the boat ramp you’ll need to finding street parking and walk a short distance to the event.
